The HRA

The Hastings Revitalization Association is full of volunteers that are determined to connect area residents, businesses, and service clubs to revitalize the Village of Hastings. We strive to provide unforgettable experiences through volunteering, fundraising, and community involvement.

HRA volunteers are credited with winning the 2017 Trent Hills Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Business award for Non-Profit Organization and bringing the Monofilament (fishing line) Recovery & Recycling Program to Hastings (in partnership with Trent River Cottages). Volunteers have applied for amazing grants and garnered generous sponsors that have been instrumental in events such as the Community Bloom Celebration, Celebrate Hastings, and our annual ChristmasFests. Volunteers have led the community to paint/hide rocks, decorate for the holidays, fill empty store fronts with colour & character and so much more! We teamed with two area high schools to complete a wooden planter box project and provided incentive for local businesses to install cigarette butt receptacles throughout the downtown. We also partner with the Royal Canadian Legion to host a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, every April, and with their help (and the help of veteran’s families) we have brought the Veteran Banner Program to town. HRA volunteers published, edited, and delivered The Hub (a local coffee news publication) throughout Trent Hills & beyond for 26 issues and continue to bring news and events to social media channels daily. We have been trusted with the success and future of the Hastings Waterfront Festival, the Pisces Park Project, Canada Day festivities, and the Children’s Christmas Party.

The Revitalization Association is a very busy and active community group – consider joining today!

Hastings Revitalization Association Sub-committees

Beautification Committee

These active members of the community work tirelessly to make sure our community is bright, vibrant, which includes planting and maintaining  flower beds and planters, and organizing Earth Day Clean-ups and Fall shoreline clean-up days. They are always looking for new volunteers in the spring and fall months. IF YOU CAN SPARE A FEW HOURS A MONTH, YOU’D BE MUCH APPRECIATED. Contact  Diane at info@hastingsvillage.ca to offer your help!

Communications & Coordination Committee

These members spend their volunteer hours working to keep this website content accurate and updated and manage the HRA Social Media accounts. They have also played an integral in the creation of the Veteran banners and promotional banners displayed throughout the village. If you would like to help with the promotion of Hastings, email info@hastingsvillage.ca to sign up and lend a hand!

Festivals & Events Committee

These fine folks work with other sub-committees to plan and host numerous events throughout the year. If you love to plan events and want to bring your skills to the table, email info@hastingsvillage.ca to register as a volunteer on one of the many event committees.
